In celebration of Arthur Conan Doyle's birth month, the Westside Library is pleased to announce our May painting event! Themed after Doyle's famous "Sherlock Holmes" stories, this hound dog painting is sure to leave you feeling clued in with creativity. Join us on Saturday, May 25th, at 2 PM! Ages 13 and up welcome, and all materials are provided.

True Crime Book Club

The Westside Library (125 Belvidere) has a brand new book club for people who are obsessed with true crime. On the last Friday of every month, we will be exploring a different nonfiction book that dives deep into some of history's most infamous crimes.  Our book club had a good turnout for its inaugural meeting to discuss Michelle McNamara's I'll Be Gone In the Dark . Many themes and topics were discussed, but the group was ultimately glad to know that the Golden State Killer was behind bars.  Next month, The True Crime Book Club will be reading American Predator by Maureen Callahan. The meeting will take place on Friday, April 28 at 4PM. There is no requirement to sign up, just come ready to share your thoughts on the despicable Israel Keyes.  There are many copies available for checkout here:  American Predator  and in our digital collection .
