Image
The El Paso Public Library is gearing up for our annual Summer Reading Club! This year's theme is "All Together Now," which promotes kindness, friendship, and community. This program is for ALL AGES ! Sign-ups begin on June 1st and run through July 22nd. We encourage everyone who registers to read at least 200 minutes this summer, and to hopefully aim for our max goal of 800 minutes!  The registration link will be up soon at elpasolibrary.org so you can register or log your minutes online. You can also pick up a reading log at the Westside library or any of our other locations if you want to log your books the "old school" way. Reading logs are due on July 29th.  We will have prizes and special summer programs in store for you all this summer. Keep checking our website  or our Facebook Page for updates!

True Crime Book Club

The Westside Library (125 Belvidere) has a brand new book club for people who are obsessed with true crime. On the last Friday of every month, we will be exploring a different nonfiction book that dives deep into some of history's most infamous crimes.  Our book club had a good turnout for its inaugural meeting to discuss Michelle McNamara's I'll Be Gone In the Dark . Many themes and topics were discussed, but the group was ultimately glad to know that the Golden State Killer was behind bars.  Next month, The True Crime Book Club will be reading American Predator by Maureen Callahan. The meeting will take place on Friday, April 28 at 4PM. There is no requirement to sign up, just come ready to share your thoughts on the despicable Israel Keyes.  There are many copies available for checkout here:  American Predator  and in our digital collection .
