Dia de los Ninos/Dia de los Libros - April 29, 2023

The El Paso Public Library is holding its annual Dia de los ninos/Dia de los libros event on Saturday, April 29 at Washington Park (200 Washington St.) from 10 AM to 4 PM. We will be giving away thousands of books, and there will be loads of family fun to participate in.  All libraries will remain open their regular hours that day, in case you want a place to unwind after all that fun.  Branch Libraries will be open 10 AM to 6 PM. Express Libraries will be open 9 AM to 2 PM.

True Crime Book Club

The Westside Library (125 Belvidere) has a brand new book club for people who are obsessed with true crime. On the last Friday of every month, we will be exploring a different nonfiction book that dives deep into some of history's most infamous crimes.  Our book club had a good turnout for its inaugural meeting to discuss Michelle McNamara's I'll Be Gone In the Dark . Many themes and topics were discussed, but the group was ultimately glad to know that the Golden State Killer was behind bars.  Next month, The True Crime Book Club will be reading American Predator by Maureen Callahan. The meeting will take place on Friday, April 28 at 4PM. There is no requirement to sign up, just come ready to share your thoughts on the despicable Israel Keyes.  There are many copies available for checkout here:  American Predator  and in our digital collection .
