Sensory Friendly Craft Hour - October 2024

The Westside branch is excited to present another Sensory Friendly Craft Hour for all ages! Join us for a fun and relaxing time as we create dancing spider jars, which are sure to be as mesmerizing as they are soothing. As always, you'll be doing your craft under with low lighting and ambient music playing in the background to reach all senses. This craft will take place on Monday, October 28th, at 4:30 PM. Bat Painting - October 2024

  Halloween is upon is, which means it's the perfect time to have a spooky twist on this month's literary-themed painting! In celebration of R.L. Stein's birth month, we will holding a bat painting on Saturday, October 26th, at 2 PM for ages 15+. As always, canvases and paint supplies are provided, and you don't need any prior painting experience to attend. No matter if you decide to replicate our sample painting, or paint something on your own, we're excited to see what everyone creates!

  Calling all Teens and Adults! Looking to treat yourself to your very own custom Halloween candy box? Or perhaps there's someone special in your life that you'd love to give a tasty gift to on Halloween evening? We here at the Westside Library are excited to announce our "Create Your Own Halloween Candy Box" Event! We'll provide you with the materials you need to create your own spooky box that's ready to be filled with delicious treats. Boxes are limited, so make sure to reserve your spot today! Join us on Thursday, October 24th, from 2 to 4 PM!

Spooky season has arrived, and that means we're gearing up for some frightfully fun events here at the Westside branch! Looking to create your own mini sugar skull piñata? How about building your own monstrosity just like Dr. Frankenstein? Or maybe creating spooky slime sounds like a great time! And for those looking to let out their Halloween spirit with a brush, we have a mini pumpkin decorating event that will surely be exciting! Teentober is also upon us, and that means we're also doing a ceramic skull painting to kick things off before you head to Memorial Park the next day. Lastly, for teens and adults, we have a special event where you can create your own Halloween candy box; perfect for gifting to a loved one or friend. All of these events are RSVP only, so make sure you sign up as soon as possible. Hope to see you there! *Note: Time for painted ceramic skulls has changed to 4 - 5:45 PM from previous time.
